Basic Information for Leads 2010

The Pacific Northwest Library Association (PNLA) Leadership Institute is designed to provide opportunities for emerging library leaders in the Pacific Northwest to cultivate their leadership skills and potential.

Library leaders come in all forms and from all levels within libraries. They may be support staff or professionals, with or without library school degrees. If you are an emerging leader serving in any capacity in a library in the Pacific Northwest and have a desire to network with other leaders and increase your skills, this institute is for you!

A Special Message to Leads Alumni and Friends --

PNLA is now in its fourth year of offering a unique form of continuing education through a leadership institute and is committed to offering this opportunity every two years to ensure emerging library leaders in our region receive intensive training in leadership and change management.

This is a cost intensive program (about $56,000 each institute) and without grant or corporate support for 2010 we turn to you - Leads alumni - to help us make sure this valuable leadership opportunity remains accessible to staff working in any position within all types of library settings.  Past participants were fortunate to have paid only $600-1000 for the weeklong experience - 2010 applicants face up to $1300.  Please consider the special opportunity you had and “pay it forward.”
