Located in the heart of downtown Pullman, the newly expanded library is airy and pleasant. The South Fork of the Palouse River flows alongside the building and a delightful walking path stretches all the way to Idaho. Pullman is an education town, with a PAC-10 university and outstanding public schools. It’s a small, friendly place that’s worlds away from the urban sprawl. Located eight miles from the Idaho Panhandle, Pullman has easy access to several National Forests and many of the West’s most-storied rivers. Blue ribbon fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, and boating are all just a short drive away. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION WILL HAVE demonstrated competence in long-range planning, evaluation of services, current trends in library science, including management and automation, planning, organizing, budgeting, and directing library operations, establishing and maintaining effective working, professional, and community relationships. To be considered for this position, applicants must have: basic computer skills and be customer-service oriented; a Master of Library Science (or equivalent combination of education and experience); possess or be able to obtain (within 90 days of hire) Washington State Board Certification; five years of progressively responsible experience at a level equivalent to librarian; and three years of Return to Jobs index
