The Branch Services Director, #02199-001, at Pierce County Library System oversees and directs the operations and activities of the Branch Services Department for our 17 branches. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, management position. Hours vary depending on needs of the position, typically weekdays but also with occasional evenings and weekends. Salary starts at $6,551 per month.
Duties of the Branch Services Director include providing leadership and technical guidance for system-wide circulation and branch operations; ensuring the delivery of high quality, customer focused service; participates in strategic and long range planning for the operation and development of the library system, services and individual branch facilities; addressing customer inquires and complaints and participates in union negotiations. Builds relationships with community agencies, institutions and individuals while representing Pierce County Library at community events.
The Branch Services Director is a core member of the library Executive Team and directly supervises management and professional personnel.
Applicants must have a Master’s Degree from an ALA accredited Library & Information Studies program, and five years experience overseeing branch services operaions in the public library environment.
