Library Circulation Aide
French American International School

Hourly rate: $12.50, 32 weeks a year, .75FTE with health insurance
The FAIS library is a dynamic and busy work environment with a multilingual collection. It is serves a lower school and a middle school. Essential duties of the Circulation Aide:
- Process, sort, organize, and shelve assigned library materials including books, magazines, DVD’s etc.
- Perform circulation duties including checking books in/out, receiving hold requests, collecting and processing fees for lost/damaged materials, and answering incoming phone calls
- Maintain student, teacher, parent, data in library database
- Provide help to students, teachers, and parents, respond to general inquiries, locate library materials
- Perform daily shelf reading; monitor, arrange, straighten, and shift library materials
- Process and maintain periodicals including catalogue data entry and display
- Perform basic collection maintenance duties including deleting discarded library materials, pulling books off the shelves for repairs
- Assist t Librarian in receiving book orders, special events and programs, book fairs, etc.
Required skills: excellent knowledge of contemporary administrative practices, data entry, MS Office Suite, record keeping, filing, etc.; excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work cooperatively; patience with children and the general public.
Essential qualifications: one year of college and previous library experience
Preferred qualifications: Associate’s Degree, knowledge of French and experience with working with children
