Valley Catholic School in Beaverton, Oregon (just west of Portland) is seeking a full-time head librarian.  The library will for one more year serve grades 7-12 but in 2011-2012, when a new K-8 school will be completed, will serve grades 9-12 only. 

Valley Catholic, founded in 1902, is a strong college-prep school: in 2009 it won the College Board’s Siemens Award as Oregon’s top Advanced Placement math and science school. 

The school offers students a great variety of artistic opportunities including a full orchestra, string ensemble, show band, jazz band, pep band, many choirs and an ambitious drama program and in 2009 was named Oregon’s most successful 3A athletic school.  To learn more about the school please look at its website, http://www.valleycatholic.org/.

We are seeking a librarian who would enjoy many areas of high-school life and become an active member of a close faculty, even perhaps teaching a course or directing an activity.
