POSITION: Media/Copy Services Technician III (Class 258)
Full-time, regular position. Reports to the Director of the Library.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision of the Library Director, and working closely with Computer Information Support Services, Facilities, Instruction, and Administrative Services staff, oversee and provide a broad range of audiovisual and copy related services in support of the overall media needs of the college; perform complex media services work, including but not limited to: design, install, operate and maintain audiovisual and multimedia systems; coordinate the scheduling and usage of media equipment and materials; manage the production of media materials in support of instruction, institutional promotion and/or special events; supervise the print and copy services operations of the college.
COMPENSATION:
In accordance with the negotiated agreement with the Bellingham Educational Support Team (B.E.S.T.), Media and Copy Services Technician III, $2,903 per month, $16.68 per hour, with increments to $3,523 per month, $20.25 per hour. Generous benefits package.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Generally, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a variable schedule assignment particularly around quarter start dates.
Assignments may include evening and split schedule and may include extra and/or overtime hours as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of relevant work experience OR equivalent education/experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree or equivalent AND two years of relevant work experience OR equivalent education/experience.
SPECIFIC POSITION ELEMENTS:
Excellent customer service skills working with various individuals and groups; ability to design, install, operate and maintain AV and multimedia systems; strong computer skills including MS Office, multi-media editing and graphics software; hand, arm, dexterity-ability to grasp, push, pull and reach overhead; ability to climb a ladder, ability to stoop, bend at the waist, and kneel; ability to sit/stand for long periods of time at a desk/computer workstation, using repetitive arm, hand and finger movements; ability to push carts as needed; may occasionally work in a dusty environment; ability to work in a semi-open office setting with frequent in-person interactions and numerous interruptions, handle multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands; may lift up to 50 pounds; may cover mail route duties.
EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:
All applicants are required to complete a Supplemental Application which will be scored. Applicants selected for interview may be asked to perform additional skills testing.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Bellingham Educational Support team (BEST) membership within 60 calendar days of hire date.
